東山田中コミュニティハウスオープンイベント

東山田中のコミュニティハウスオープンイベントに参加してきた。
サルサのメンバーから6人が集まって、朝早く8時に到着して簡単にリハーサルを行う。ステージの形が正方形で思ったよりも幅が狭かったために位置関係の調整をしなければならなかった。
9時すぎから次第に人が集まってきて徐々に準備が整っていく。僕たちは開式するまで練習をしたり、体育館で行われていたインディアカを体験していた。

式の挨拶が終わり、和太鼓、中学生のヒップホップが終わった後いよいよ出番が回ってくる。デッキの音量が小さくて仕切りなおしをするというハプニングがあったが、ほぼ2週間という短い練習時間にも関わらず、よい出来となった。

その後、マツケンサンバを中学生と一緒に踊ったりと多少でしゃばってしまったが、後々話を聞いてみると盛り上げてくれてありがとうという言葉を戴けた。
最後には校長先生もステージに上がってきて踊りに加わっていた。

今回サルサを披露したのはもちろん自分が楽しいという気持ちがあるのだが、経験できる世界が限られがちな中学生に、あるひとつの可能性というものを伝えたかったということがある。地域が関わっていくコミュニティハウスでは、多様な年齢や文化が混在した交流が始まって欲しい。その中で子どもたちが多様性を自然に受け入れた価値観を養っていくことを願う。

とにもかくにも、何かできることがないかと考えていたことが、ここで一つ実行できたことが自分にとっては収穫であった。
